Show HN: Lambda – The open-source privacy-based Social media app
Hi, HN community!

NOTE: This is a repost of the previous one, due to it being less in detail

I want to get some help with this idea of mine, I got tired of social media, so I have decided to bring a new era in social media with lambda, for which I would like some help in gaining traction, your help is all I need currently.

What is Lambda?

Lambda is a prototype currently for gaining traction and investment, but the prototype also has the main ideas implemented into it. Here's what makes Lambda unique:

- Privacy: Lambda does not collect personal information other than email for creating accounts.

- Well-Being: 1 Phrase "If you don't pay for the product you are the product"

- Organic Feed: No AI-generated crap. You only see posts from users you follow.

- Non-targeted advertisements: No privacy exposing, lambda uses a bidding system in which, if a total of $10M is bid, and one advertiser bids $1M, he gets 10% of the total ad space.

- Open Source: It's for the users by the users. What you want is what you get.

Comparison: Lambda vs Decentralized

Decentralized platforms are made to decentralize social media, but they have drawbacks and disadvantages.

Reimagining social media

- Lambda: Lambda wants to make itself an all-in-one platform, that focuses on privacy, and well-being, and is community-driven.

- Decentralized: These platforms aim to remove censorship and compete with X mainly.

Moderation

- Lambda: Lambda is a prototype, but there are plans to implement a moderation system where qualified individuals(user for >1 year) can help moderate content on the platform.

- Decentralized: Aim to avoid centralized content moderation, because of this approach, it can be challenging to address illegal or harmful content.

Technical Complexity

- Lambda: Lambda is a prototype, but it will be developed into a fully scalable platform once it gains traction with AWS. Using Lambda is straightforward, you just need to provide your email.

- Decentralized: A decentralized platform can be intimidating and confusing for non-tech guys, making them less accessible.

Feature and user experiences

- Lambda: Lambda does not have all the functionalities of the final product, but main features are added in the prototype. I hate surprises so the final product would have tweet like feature, Instagram like image post and bunch of other stuff to make lambda all-in-one.

- Decentralized: Decentralized social media platforms focus on X, and thus only a tweet-like feature is available.

What's Next?

Currently, Lambda is a prototype/MVP, because AWS makes burning money easy. If you would love to help it gain traction and remove facebook from power, please help me reach the goal of 5K users. Currently, lambda has 25 users(thanks to all those... private people! only 4,975 more), but those are pony numbers, for Lambda to AWS cash, it would need $5M, for which it needs to showcase it has traction to dummies(investors).

A star on GitHub would be... private... yeah not a comedian OK? Just an Indian doing Indian things.

Feedback

If you have any feedback, bad or worse, it's all accepted. Help lambda become a democratic social media app...
