I remember seeing a show about an already profitable company that tasked a lean team of maybe 4 people to come up with ideas.

The team would then vote on the best 4 or 5 ideas. Those ideas were then turned into MVP and put into the wild with minimal marketing. If they had a little success they would turn them into a company and assign a team to build it out.

They ideas ranged from software to new hardware.

If I can recall correctly they have done this 4 or so times turning them into multi million dollar companies. And the idea team get a small piece of each company.

Anyone know of companies that do or did that?

This is driving me bonkers.
